IBM® S3500 1.8-inch and 2.5-inch solid-state drives

The new S3500 solid-state drives (SSDs) provide an affordable, reliable, and

performance-driven solution for high-capacity, read-intensive applications by

employing a 6 Gbps SATA interface and cost-effective MLC NAND technology. These

drives present an opportunity for you to simplify your local storage infrastructure

to help maintain overall maintenance and cooling cost, while considering remote

storage solutions for end-to-end data availability.

Benefits include:

• High capacities in 1.8-inch and 2.5-inch form factors that fit into a conventional

disk-drive bay

• Industry-leading cost-effective MLC NAND technology with high read

performance of random 4 KB reads, up to 72,000 IOPS

• Enhanced power-loss data protection, which reduces potential data loss by

detecting and protecting data from an unexpected system power loss

• Enterprise data protection to ensure NAND integrity

• Rigorous testing through the ServerProven® program for the storage subsystem,

which instills confidence that your storage subsystem is compatible and will

function reliably

• 2.5-inch SSDs available as either HS or SS drives

IBM 200 GB, 400 GB, and 800 GB 3.5-inch SAS SSDs

The 200 GB, 400 GB, and 800 GB SSDs provide a high-performance, reliable

solution for high-capacity Enterprise applications with a moderate read/write mix

by employing a 6 Gbps SAS interface and MLC NAND technology. These solid-state

drives present an opportunity for you to simplify your local storage infrastructure

to help maintain overall maintenance and cooling cost, while considering remote

storage solutions for end-to-end data availability.
